Abstract Elements
Landscape paintings by Carol Pierce honor earth’s natural elements
NEW YORK • A solo show of new works by Northern California painter Carole Pierce hangs at J. Cacciola Gallery this month. Pierce has always been fascinated by the sky and land and intends to celebrate earth’s beauty through her paintings. The four elements—air, earth, water, and fire—have been a source of her inspiration. “Fire is both dangerous and amazingly beautiful. It can devastate an area in seconds. But in many cultures fire is also about transformation, rebirth, regeneration, and spiritual awakening,” she has said. Her paintings are on display from March 2 through April 17. NORTH CAROLINA
Inside Worlds
RALEIGH • Interior scenes depicting household rooms filled with light and shadows are Jennifer O’Connell’s favorite subject to paint. “Literally and symbolically, interior spaces are self-controlled and apart from the world. Rooms are states of being; manifestations of the mind; protected and shielded. The interior is a metaphor for the self,” she has said. Adam Cave Fine Art spotlights her brightly-colored paintings in a solo show running through March 23. For more information: 919.838.6692 or www.adamcavefineart.com.
